Our real estate practice serves commercial and residential real estate clients in all aspects of buying, selling, financing, leasing and developing real property on the Outer Banks from Corolla to Ocracoke. Our counsel includes the structuring, documentation, due diligence, financing and planning related to real estate transactions. The legal services we provide include negotiating, drafting, and reviewing purchase and sale contracts for buyers and sellers; examining real estate titles; representing buyers and sellers in real estate purchase and sale transactions; and negotiating, drafting, and reviewing financing and loan documents, leases, management agreements and construction contracts.
In addition, we represent banks and other financial institutions in a wide variety of secured and unsecured commercial and corporate lending transactions. We assist lenders in the structuring, documenting and review of a variety of credit facilities, such as construction and term loans. We provide full service representation to our lending clients, including creditor representation in loan workouts, foreclosures and collections.

Estate Planning
We advise and counsel clients in creating an estate plans that meet their unique needs. Our services include the drafting of wills, trusts, durable powers of attorney, health care powers of attorney and living wills.
Probate Law
Our probate and estate practice involves assisting executors, administrators and family members with meeting the requirements of North Carolina statutes. Also we can assist with probate and non-probate transfer of property in Outer Banks, including “ancillary” probate in Dare County & Currituck County.
Business and Corporate Law
We counsel our clients in organizing and managing corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, professional corporations and other business organizational structures both to large and small entities. We represent both buyers and sellers of diverse businesses. Our expertise includes handling contract issues, employment law, not-for-profit tax-exempt entities, legal and regulatory compliance, commercial filings, and business sales and purchases.
Admiralty
In admiralty law, Elizabeth has experience in the following areas: sale/transfer/titling of U.S. Coast Guard Documented vessels and North Carolina registered commercial and recreational vessels. Also, Elizabeth has experience in the compliance with and sale/transfer of U.S. Federal limited and open access federal fisheries permits as well as the transfer of NC Standard Commercial Fishing License.
